We believe

The basis of our faith is expressed in the Nicene Creed. This doctrine unites Christians across the world and throughout the ages in affirming faith in the one true God who creates, redeems, and sanctifies all of humanity.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God,
    the Father, the Almighty,
    maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
    the only Son of God,
    eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
    true God from true God,
    begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
        he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
        and was made man.
    For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
            in accordance with the Scriptures;
        he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Our Mission

Growing Faith that Impacts the World for Christ

Core Values

St. Philip’s Church & Preschool exists to make and form disciples of Jesus Christ across generations. Through worship, prayer, Scripture, Sacraments, education, community, service, and mission, we help people come and see Christ, belong to His Body, grow in faith, serve with their gifts, and go into the world to love and serve God and neighbor — bearing witness to Christ in their homes, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and communities for the glory of God.

The following values express the enduring beliefs that shape who we are, how we live, and how we pursue God’s mission together. They are not programs, strategies, or goals. They are the foundational convictions that guide our decisions, relationships, ministries, and future as St. Philip’s Church & Preschool.

We believe God is our foundation.

We belong to the Father, through the Son, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Through worship, prayer, Scripture, and the Sacraments, God forms us into the people He calls us to be. These gifts of grace are the foundation of all we are and all we do.

We believe faith is formed across generations.

God calls every generation to know Him, love Him, and follow Him with wonder, joy, and faith. We are committed to helping people of all ages take their next steps with Christ, growing as lifelong disciples and encouraging one another along the journey.

We believe people flourish in Christian community.

The Church is the family of God. We embrace God’s culture of belonging, where relationships are deep, hospitality is genuine, and people of every age are known, loved, and cared for. We believe God accomplishes His work through His people as we worship, serve, learn, and grow together.

We believe character matters.

Integrity, authenticity, humility, and faithfulness reflect the character of Christ. We seek to be trustworthy in our words, actions, and relationships, living the same life in private that we proclaim in public.

We believe every person is called to serve.

God has uniquely gifted every person for His purposes. We are committed to helping people discover their gifts, serve others, and join God’s work in the Church, the Preschool, the community, and the world. We believe God’s mission is best lived out together, as each person contributes their gifts for the good of others and the glory of God.

We believe faithful stewardship honors God.

We faithfully steward the people, resources, opportunities, and ministries entrusted to us. Grateful for God’s provision, we seek to use our gifts wisely, serve responsibly, and offer our very best for the glory of God and the good of others.

We believe Christ sends us into the world.

The Church does not exist for itself. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we seek to share the Gospel, welcome new people, serve our neighbors, and participate in God’s transforming work in the world.
